Effective date: September 1, 2026
1. Scope and identity
This Privacy Policy applies to the website operated for BBS Automotive Group, Inc., doing business as Carriage House Motor Cars, at 25 Railroad Avenue, Greenwich, Connecticut 06830 (“BBS,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). It describes website information practices and does not replace any separate privacy notice delivered in connection with an actual credit, financing, leasing, or vehicle transaction.
2. Information you may provide
The website includes forms for general contact, vehicle availability, test-drive requests, financing support, trade-in estimates, direct vehicle-sale inquiries, and service inquiries. Depending on the form, the requested information may include your name, phone number, email address, preferred appointment time, vehicle of interest, employment status, approximate income range, intended down payment, trade-in intent, and details about a vehicle you own, such as year, make, model, trim, mileage, condition, VIN, title status, lien status, and asking price.
Do not submit Social Security numbers, bank credentials, payment-card details, passwords, images of government-issued identification, or other highly sensitive documents through a general website form. Final credit processing should occur only through a secure provider approved by the dealership.
3. Information collected automatically
If enabled in production, web servers and approved analytics providers may collect IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, links selected, dates and times, coarse location inferred from IP address, and diagnostic information. Essential browser storage currently remembers cookie preferences and saved demonstration vehicles. Optional analytics are not active in this HTML preview and should not be activated until the consent experience and this policy match the selected provider.
4. How information may be used
| Purpose | Typical information |
|---|---|
| Respond to inquiries and appointments | Name, phone, email, message, vehicle of interest, preferred time |
| Discuss financing support | Contact details, desired vehicle, employment category, income range, down payment, trade-in intent |
| Review a trade-in or direct sale | Vehicle details, condition, VIN, title or lien status, requested timing |
| Operate and secure the website | Device, browser, IP, logs, cookie preference, diagnostic events |
| Comply with law and protect rights | Relevant records, consent information, requests, transaction-related documentation |
5. Disclosure of information
Information may be disclosed to vendors that operate the website, host data, provide communications, manage dealership leads, help prevent fraud, or support an action you request. If you request financing or leasing assistance, information may be shared with financing sources or service providers only as needed to evaluate or process that request and subject to applicable notices and permissions. Information also may be disclosed to professional advisers, regulators, law enforcement, courts, or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect people, property, transactions, or legal rights.
We do not state that the dealership sells personal data for money. The production operator must review whether any analytics, advertising, lead-generation, or data-sharing activity constitutes a “sale,” “sharing,” or targeted advertising under applicable law and must update this notice and opt-out controls accordingly.
6. Financing and the FTC Privacy Rule
The FTC explains that auto dealers who extend credit or arrange consumer financing or leasing may be covered by the Financial Privacy Rule, and personal information collected in connection with possible financing may be covered even before a formal application is completed.[1] Any privacy notice required for an actual financing or leasing relationship will be provided separately at the legally required time and may describe additional practices not covered by this website policy.
7. Connecticut privacy rights
Subject to applicability thresholds, exceptions, identity verification, and other legal conditions, Connecticut residents may have rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of personal data, request information about certain third-party sales, and opt out of personal-data sale, targeted advertising, and certain profiling. Covered businesses must explain how rights can be exercised and generally respond within 45 days, subject to a permitted extension.[2]
To submit a privacy request, use the Contact page and write “Privacy Request” at the beginning of the message, call (203) 661-6669, or mail a written request to BBS Automotive Group, Inc., 25 Railroad Avenue, Greenwich, CT 06830. Describe the right you wish to exercise and provide enough information to reasonably verify the request. Authorized-agent requests may require proof of authority. If a covered request is denied, the response will explain any available appeal process.
8. Global Privacy Control
The website’s cookie script treats a detected Global Privacy Control signal as an essential-only browser preference. The Connecticut Attorney General states that covered controllers must honor qualifying opt-out preference signals from Connecticut consumers as of January 1, 2025.[2] Additional production systems, if connected, must be configured consistently.
9. Retention and security
In production, information should be retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the disclosed purpose, dealership operations, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and dispute resolution. Before launch, the dealership should adopt a documented schedule for inquiry, financing, trade, transaction, service, consent, and security records. Reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards should be used, but no Internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
10. Children
This website is intended for adults shopping for or managing motor vehicles and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the website. If you believe a child submitted information, contact us to request review and deletion.
11. Third-party links and services
The website may link to mapping, financing, vehicle-history, recall, social-media, or other third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Review those policies before submitting information.
12. Changes
We may revise this policy when practices, services, or legal requirements change. The effective date will be updated, and material changes should be communicated in an appropriate manner.
